Principle of measurement

A certain amount of coal or coke sample, in the presence of alumina as a catalyst and loose agent conditions, at 1050 ℃ access to water vapor, the sample of nitrogen and its compounds all reduced to ammonia. The resulting ammonia is distilled through a sodium hydroxide solution and titrated with a saturated boric acid solution to calculate the nitrogen content according to the consumption of the standard sulfuric acid solution.
